San Diego LAFCO is governed by a 13-member Commission comprising county, city, special district, and public representatives. The City of San Diego holds a dedicated seat on the Commission—consisting of one regular and one alternate member—pursuant to special legislation. With the exception of the two public members, all Commissioners are appointed from among elected officials.
